Since 2010 College Hockey Inc. has helped impact NCAA Division I men’s college hockey through extensive marketing and informational efforts designed to raise the sport’s profile and to encourage elite young players to pursue a college hockey career.
The entity works closely with the commissioners of the six Division I men’s hockey conferences and the coaching staffs and administrations of the 60 Division I programs. The organization was made possible by resources provided by USA Hockey, through a grant from the National Hockey League.
We were engaged from 2013-15 to guide their executive team in understanding how American Elite hockey players and their parents currently perceived the College Hockey brand and the Canadian Major Junior brand, and then to develop a Brand Strategy that would build strong relationships with College Hockey in the future. The result was a believable, distinct and compelling Brand Promise that would cause American Elite Players/Families who want to play in the NHL to choose the NCAA DI route as opposed to the Canadian Major Junior route.
